Our History

1924 The Travelers Choral Club (TCC) is founded.
  TCC presents our First Annual Holiday Concert at Assembly Hall in the Travelers Grove Street Building on December 16.
  TCC sings a live program of Christmas carols broadcast by the Travelers' new radio station WTIC on December 22.
1925 TCC performs a holiday program of old English carols including several heard for the first time in America.
1930s TCC sings Christmas carols during live broadcasts on WTIC radio.
1931 TCC performs our Eighth Annual Holiday Concert in newly opened Horace Bushnell Memorial Hall in Hartford.
1940s TCC entertains thousands at Hartford Times Carol Sings in downtown Hartford.
1965 TCC performs at the Travelers Pavilion "The Triumph of Man" at the World's Fair on May 23 in New York City.
1970s TCC leads downtown Hartford holiday celebrations in seasonal song at Festival of Light Opening Ceremonies on Constitution Plaza.
1974 TCC celebrates our 50th year on December 16th in a gala golden anniversary concert at the Bushnell.
1999 TCC celebrates our 75th anniversary at a formal ceremony at the Old State House, Hartford.
  The City of Hartford proclaimed May 18, 1999 as "Travelers Choral Club Day" in recognition of the Club's 75th anniversary.
2007 TCC is incorporated as Travelers Choral Club, Inc. and is subsequently granted nonprofit status.
  TCC sings at the opening ceremonies of the inaugural Travelers Championship, Cromwell.
  TCC performs at the Governor's Residence Holiday Open House in Hartford. Governor Rell personally presents an official Proclamation to the TCC designating November 30, 2007 as "Travelers Choral Club Day."
2008 TCC entertains holiday visitors at the Wadsworth Atheneum's Festival of Trees and Traditions.
2010 The TCC changes its stage name to the Travelers Chorale. The Travelers Choral Club, Inc. continues as the founding organization supporting the performance endeavors of the Travelers Chorale.
